JD Vance’s Emotional Goodbye to Charlie Kirk

JD Vance Shares Heartbreaking Tribute to Charlie Kirk, Calling Him a Loyal Friend, Man of Faith, and Devoted Family Man

The sudden death of Charlie Kirk has left a heavy silence across political circles and among those who knew him personally. For many, Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA and a force in conservative politics. But for Senator JD Vance, he was far more than a political figure. In a deeply personal tribute, Vance described Kirk as a true friend, a man whose faith and love for his family defined his life far more than headlines or rallies ever could.

Vance recalled first meeting Kirk back in 2017, when he received a kind message after an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show. That simple gesture of encouragement sparked a friendship that would grow over the years. Vance said Kirk was fascinated by ideas, open to learning, and humble even when he was proven right. He explained that Kirk never approached disagreements with arrogance but instead welcomed people with generosity and understanding.

When Vance considered running for Senate in 2021, Kirk was one of the first people he called. He walked him through strategy, introduced him to key allies, and even connected him with Donald Trump Jr. Long before Vance’s campaign took off, when he was still polling under five percent, Kirk gave him opportunities, invited him to speak at Turning Point USA events, and offered honest feedback. According to Vance, Kirk had no reason to do this other than being a good man and a loyal friend.

Their bond continued as Vance rose in politics, ultimately becoming Donald Trump’s vice-presidential nominee. He admitted the transition was difficult on his family, especially his children, but Kirk was always there with calls, prayers, and encouragement. Vance said some of the campaign’s most successful events were not even planned by political operatives but by Turning Point USA, thanks to Kirk’s ability to turn ideas into reality.

Vance also spoke about Kirk’s deep faith in God, how they often discussed Christianity, and how Kirk’s passion for faith fueled his work and his family life. He remembered Kirk as a man who would face hostile crowds yet still encourage civility and open debate, believing strongly in the American spirit of free speech.

President Donald Trump, in a private moment at the White House, told Vance that Kirk “really loved his family,” a sentiment that Vance agreed with completely. He said Kirk was so proud of his wife Erika and their two children, cherishing fatherhood as one of his greatest blessings.

Vance ended his tribute with a line that captured both grief and faith: “You ran a good race, my friend. We’ve got it from here.” His words painted a picture of a man remembered not just for his politics, but for his loyalty, kindness, and devotion to family and God.
